What to expect
Although your therapy sessions will be based on talking things through, I believe that there isn’t one approach to therapy that works for everyone or every situation. We’re all different, and I will work with you as an individual to find an approach that best suits your individual needs and what you’re going through. This may include bringing in elements of different counselling theories or offering tools to help you explore and cope with your problems. This is known as Integrative Therapy.
Also sometimes introducing a creative element can be helpful – for example using stones or journaling. Creativity can help when words may not be enough, or where you feel ‘stuck’ or are struggling to express your thoughts and feelings. Working in this way can also provide an opportunity for further discussion or bring deeper understanding.
Online or phone counselling appointments can make it easier for you to access therapy around your family, work commitments or busy lifestyle. Even though we will not be in the same room, I can still help you to explore how you’re feeling, understand what you are going through and support you to make changes in your life if you need to.
"An important part of counselling is that you feel heard and understood and this is no different for face to face, online and phone counselling."
